The collection includes:

The Collection

The collection includes technical drawings and set design plans, copies of drawings, and gouaches. They were passed on to the National Film Archive by the producers various Film Units.

The collection includes the following:

  • original designs (paper, ink and wash) by Roman Mann for such films as "Miasto nieujarzmione" [Unvanquished City] (1950) by Jerzy Zarzycki, "Młodość Chopina" [Young Chopin] (1951) and "Krzyżacy" [Knights of the Teutonic Order aka Black Cross] (1960) by Aleksander Ford, "Człowiek na torze" [Man on the Tracks] (1956) by Andrzej Munk and "Matka Joanna od Aniołów" [Mother Joan of the Angels] (1960) by Jerzy Kawalerowicz
  • set designs (watercolour) by Anatol Radzinowicz for "Piątka z ulicy Barskiej" [Five Boys from Barska Street] (1953) by Aleksander Ford
  • albums with drawings by Jerzy Groszang and Wojciech Krysztofiak for "Pan Wołodyjowski" [Colonel Wolodyjowski] (1969) by Jerzy Hoffman
  • costume designs (tempera, cardboard with textile samples attached) by Lech Zahorski for "Pan Wołodyjowski" [Colonel Wolodyjowski]
  • a collection of costume designs by Magdalena Tesławska and Jerzy Szeski for "Potop" [The Deluge] (1973-1974) by Jerzy Hoffman, accompanied by textile samples and handwritten notes by the tailors and costume designers
